You see, diode based LEDs have a series of electrodes that are rather thin. As the current flows through these electrodes the electrons start to bump into the phosphors creating an electric current. This current is again supplied by a small battery. All of this is combined in a plastic tube that contains a tiny light source.

One of the nice things about having LED letters is that they are very eye-catching. Since you can get bright white light from them, you don’t have to use a huge strip of fluorescent lights. Instead you can use just a few lighted letters that will be eye catching enough to catch the attention of passing motorists. The current from the battery should last quite a while, so you can leave your lighted letters on for a while before changing them out.

One of the nicest things about these types of LED signs is the fact that you can install them on any surface. This means that you can use them on the sides of your home, on the edges of the road, on the edge of your garage, and even along your garage door. There really isn’t any limit to where you could place these signs because each of the individual letters can stand alone as individual lights. You can even use them on the sides of your garage. Once again, you can create a nice illuminated look with these lights.

As far as the actual lighted letters go, there are two types available. The first kind is a standard box that contains the lighted letters. The second type is a lighted marquee that is installed in the center of the marquee letters. You can place these marquee letters anywhere you want, but you should probably do it near the base so that you can see what is going on. A lighted marquee will provide you with a good lighted area that you can easily see and that drivers will be able to read.

If you test several different kinds of LED light, you’ll probably be able to determine which kind of light is the best.
